General Job Description
MPR provides top-tier engineering services by focusing on first principles and relying on a team of multi-disciplined engineers with expertise in fluid flow, thermodynamics, stress analysis, finite element analysis, vibrations, circuit design, software development and instrumentation and controls. MPR hires a wide variety of engineering disciplines and favors candidates that are highly motivated, talented, and innovative. Typical projects at MPR last from 2-12 months and are completed by project teams of 2-10 engineers. At any one point in time, a typical MPR engineer will be working on 2-3 projects simultaneously. Example projects include:
MPR regularly provides training opportunities – many of which occur on-the-job with senior engineers who are recognized industry-wide as experts in their fields. Some of MPR’s most interesting projects provide the opportunity to travel to client sites, test facilities or supplier’s facilities. Although employees are based out of one of our several offices, they should expect a moderate amount of travel based on the specific requirements of their projects. Expected career progression includes developing technical expertise as well as increasing responsibility for project management, supervision, client relations, and business development.
The ideal candidate is an engineer with a strong working knowledge of engineering first principles who is a proficient writer, and has the ability to work both independently and with others. The candidate should also have interest in working at client or other sites as projects require. The candidate should be able to communicate and work closely with senior engineers and clients to solve problems.
